Dismantling


1. Remove the automatic transmission filter.

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - GM 5L40-E, REPAIR WORK, Filter - automatic transmission working fluid.


2. Disconnect the connector block from the automatic transmission.

3. Remove the retainer from the connector and disconnect the connector from the automatic transmission housing.

4. Mark the position of the connectors and remove the 8 sensor and solenoids blocks.

5. Remove the wiring harness, remove and discard the sealing ring.

Assembly


1. Clean the automatic transmission connector block and socket.

2. Install new O-rings onto the wire harness and lubricate them with automatic transmission fluid.

3. Install the wiring harness into the automatic transmission and secure its elements with clamps.



4. Connect the pads to the sensor and solenoids connectors.

5. Install the automatic transmission filter.
