Dismantling


1. Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery.

2. Remove the generator.

3. Remove the left front wheel.

CAUTION: Do not work under a vehicle supported solely by a jack or lift. Always support the vehicle with safety stands.


4. Place a container to collect any leaking coolant.

CAUTION: Before disconnecting or removing system components, make sure that the adjacent surfaces of the connection points are free of dirt. Install plugs in the openings of the fittings and pipes to protect the system from dirt ingress.


5. Clean the area around the hose quick-release fittings.

6. Loosen the two fasteners and disconnect the coolant hoses from the automatic transmission cooler.

7. Install a container to collect the leaking working fluid.

8. Remove the clamp mounting screw and disconnect the automatic transmission lines from the cooler.

9. Remove the 3 screws securing the cooler to the bracket.

10. Remove the automatic transmission cooler.

11. Remove and discard the two O-rings from the automatic transmission cooler lines.

Assembly


1. Wipe the places where the pipes are connected to the cooler.

2. Make sure the ends of the pipelines are clean, lubricate the new sealing rings with working fluid and install them on the pipelines.

3. Position the cooler on the bracket and align the automatic transmission lines with it. Install the lines, clamp the lines and tighten the clamp screw by hand.

4. Install the cooler mounting screws and tighten them to 10 Nm.

5. Install the screw that secures the pipe clamp to the cooler and tighten it to a torque of 10 Nm.

6. Connect and secure the hoses to the automatic transmission cooler.

7. Reinstall the generator.

8. Replace the wheel and tighten the nuts to a torque of 140 Nm.

9. Add coolant to the cooling system.

COOLING SYSTEM: Td6, ADJUSTMENTS AND MAINTENANCE, Draining the coolant, flushing the system and filling.


10. Add working fluid to the automatic transmission.

11. Connect the negative terminal to the battery.
