HCU block (hydraulic control unit) mounted in the engine compartment with three mounting sleeves to the bracket in the storage chamber on the driver's side. Hydraulic pipelines connect HCU (hydraulic control unit) with master cylinder and brakes. For more information refer to Hydraulic Brake Actuation (206-06).
The main and auxiliary outlets of the master cylinder are connected to the main and auxiliary circuits and the HCU (hydraulic control unit). HCU main circuit
(hydraulic control unit) has separate outlets for the front brakes.
Auxiliary circuit of the HCU (hydraulic control unit) has separate outlets for the rear brakes. Each loop of the HCU (hydraulic control unit) contains the following components and parts that allow you to adjust the hydraulic pressure applied to the brakes:
- Normally open solenoid control valve for active braking.
- A normally closed priming solenoid valve that connects the brake fluid reservoir to the return pump when braking is active.
- A return pump that creates hydraulic pressure for active braking and ensures that the brake fluid returns to the reservoir.
- Normally open solenoid intake valves and normally closed solenoid exhaust valves that control the pressure in the individual brakes.
- Receiver and bypass valve, allowing you to quickly relieve pressure in the brakes.
- Filters that protect components and parts from contamination.
Also, the main circuit includes a pressure sensor that transmits to the ABS module (anti-lock braking system) hydraulic pressure signal.
Contact pins HCU (hydraulic control unit) go into the ABS module sockets (anti-lock braking system), providing electrical connections for the return pump motor and pressure sensor to the ABS module (anti-lock braking system).
Solenoids that control the valves are installed in the ABS module (anti-lock braking system).
Spare HCUs (hydraulic control unit) already filled with liquid. After installing the unit on the vehicle, use T4 to turn on the solenoid valves and the return pump to properly bleed the air from the HCU (hydraulic control unit) and brake circuits.
