Inspection and testing of the charging system (Freelander 2)

1. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage.

NOTE: Check the condition and charge level of the vehicle battery before declaring any component of the charging system to be faulty. Refer to the battery care guide for more information.

2. If an obvious cause for the problem you have identified or the customer has described is found, correct it (if possible) before proceeding further.

3. If the cause is not visually obvious, check for DTCs and refer to the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Index.
