The CJB controls the power supply to the various functions of the vehicle. There are 9 power modes available, which are used by the various systems to determine the current state of the vehicle. Only three of these modes will be visible to the driver and maintenance personnel:
- Power Mode 4 - Auxiliary Devices
- Power Mode 6 - Ignition
- Power Mode 9 - Engine Start
Transport mode
All new vehicles are in transport mode when they leave the factory. Transport mode replaces the traditional transport relay and deactivates a number of electrical systems and functions to prevent static discharge of the battery while driving. When the vehicle is in transport mode, the 'transp' symbol appears on the instrument cluster odometer.
To cancel transport mode, a Land Rover approved diagnostic system must be connected to the vehicle during Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI). Please refer to the PDI guide for further information.
Vehicles equipped with the Stop/Start system - starting from 2010 MY
Component arrangement
The Land Rover TD4_e introduces the intelligent Stop/Start system. The components listed below are used to operate the Stop/Start system. Battery pack with glass microfiber absorbent partitions

To avoid excessive energy consumption by the Stop/Start system, these vehicles use a highly efficient battery with glass microfibre absorbent baffle technology. The advantage of this battery over a conventional battery is the glass absorbent baffles between the lead plates. Battery monitoring system

An optimal battery condition is a fundamental factor for the proper operation of the Stop/Start system. Therefore, the vehicle has a built-in battery monitoring system (BMS) unit designed to record and report the battery condition. Voltage quality control unit

During the Stop/Start cycle, the Voltage Quality Module (VQM) supports the vehicle's electrical systems by supplying auxiliary voltage to the electronic components during engine restarts. It allows the vehicle's essential systems to continue operating after an unexpected drop in battery voltage.
