Inspection and verification (Freelander 2)

CAUTION: Diagnostics using the substitution method from the donor vehicle is PROHIBITED. Substituting control modules does not guarantee confirmation of the fault and, in addition, may cause additional faults in the vehicle being tested and/or in the vehicle from which the modules are removed.

1. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical faults and system integrity.

2. If a clear cause for the problem observed or described by the customer is identified, correct it (if possible) before moving on to further actions.

3. If the cause is not visually obvious, check for DTCs and refer to the appropriate Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Index.
