NOTE: If a control module or component failure is suspected and the vehicle is still under manufacturer's warranty, refer to the warranty manual (section B1.2) or determine if a pre-authorization procedure exists for this condition before installing a new module/component.


NOTE: Access the navigation system diagnostic screen.

  • With the vehicle stationary, turn the ignition switch to the "ACC", "ON" positions or start the engine.
  • Press the top middle area of the menu screen for more than three seconds.
  • Enter the PIN code, then press OK. 660: Diagnostic menu screen 661: System check screen (DTC confirmation screen) 662: GPS information screen.
  • The diagnostics screen will be displayed.



Pinpoint Test B: Poor Satellite Reception


NOTE: Move the vehicle to an open area, satellite radio reception is not possible in a building.


NOTE: Move the vehicle cursor to the correct position.


B1: Check the system for DTCs


Check the system for stored DTCs. Are there any system-related DTCs stored?

Да - Perform repairs to correct any faults associated with the stored DTCs. Check the satellite reception. GO to B3.
No - GO to B2.




B2: Checking the installation of modified systems


Check for the presence of installation of modified systems (anti-theft system, radar, etc.). Are any modified systems installed?

Да - Equipment that is additionally installed after the sale may cause electrical or radio frequency interference, which may lead to distortion of the satellite signal. Disconnect the power supply (including redundant power sources) from the equipment additionally installed after the sale. If signal reception returns to normal after disconnecting the equipment installed after the sale, follow the steps described below. Once installed, determine the location of any post-sale hardware installed. Check the satellite signal reception. GO to B3.
No - GO to B3.


B3: Satellite signal reception checks


Check the "ST" column on the GPS navigation system diagnostic information screen (PIN 662) after 10 seconds. In case of accurate positioning, the column should display 4 "P" characters. Check the "HDOP" value, it should be less than 5. Is there more than 4 "P" characters displayed? Is the "HDOP" value less than 5?

Да - Normal reception of signal from the satellite.
No - Make sure the GPS antenna is connected to the navigation unit. Using the electrical diagrams, check the integrity of the coaxial cable and connectors from the navigation control unit (NCM) to the GPS antenna. If necessary, install a new GPS antenna or coaxial cable. Recheck the satellite signal reception.


Pinpoint test C: Roadmap disc not inserted/ejected


NOTE: Make sure the parking brake is set and the ignition is in the "Accessories" or "On" position.




C1: Check the navigation system drive shutter


Check if the navigation system's map disc drive shutter is open. Is the navigation system's map disc drive shutter open?

Да - GO to C2.
No - Open the navigation system map disc drive door. GO to C2.


C2: Check if the roadmap disc can be inserted/removed


Check if the roadmap disc can be inserted/ejected. Can the roadmap disc be inserted/ejected?

Да - The device is working properly.
No - Using the electrical diagrams, check the power and ground connections to the navigation control module (NCM). If the power and ground connections are OK, install a new navigation control module (NCM) if necessary. Refer to the new module/component installation note at the top of the DTC index.


Pinpoint test D: black screen (screen with navigation map is not displayed)


NOTE: Make sure the parking brake is set and the ignition is in the "Accessories" or "On" position.


D1: Check the screen saver function


Check if the screen saver function is working. Is the screen saver function working?

Да - Press the button on the display panel. GO to D2.
No - GO to D2.


D2: Check the display backlight


Check if the display backlight is working. Is the display backlight working?

Да - Referring to the electrical diagrams, check that the GVIF cable between the NCM and the HLDF display is connected correctly. If the GVIF cable between the NCM and the HLDF display is connected correctly, inspect and install a new GVIF cable if necessary. Refer to the new module/component installation note at the top of the DTC index. If the GVIF cable between the NCM and the HLDF display is connected correctly and is NOT damaged, inspect and install a new NCM if necessary. Refer to the new module/component installation note at the top of the DTC index. Retest the system.


No - Check the HLDF display. Recheck the system.


Pinpoint Test E: Abnormal color of the screen with navigation map


E1: Checking the color band table


Run the display diagnostics using the color bar table (PIN code 660). Are the display diagnostics results using the color bar table normal?

Да - Check the HLDF display. Recheck the system.
No Check the road map disc for dirt or scratches. Refer to the electrical diagrams and check that the GVIF cable between the NCM and the HLDF display is connected correctly. If the GVIF cable between the NCM and the HLDF display is connected correctly, inspect and install a new GVIF cable if necessary. Refer to the new module/component installation note at the top of the DTC index. If the GVIF cable between the NCM and the HLDF display is connected correctly and is NOT damaged, inspect and install a new NCM if necessary. Refer to the new module/component installation note at the top of the DTC index. Retest the system.


Pinpoint test F: The current vehicle position mark rotates independently


F1: The current position mark of the car rotates independently


Determine if the ignition switch was in the "Accessory" or "On" position while the vehicle was moving with the steering wheel turned, as well as after the engine was turned off. Was the ignition switch in the "Accessory" or "On" position?

Да - The vehicle's angular velocity at the time the ignition state changes will be recorded as the standard value. To reset the standard value, turn the ignition switch to the "OFF" position and then to the "Auxiliary" or "On" position with the vehicle stationary. Recheck the vehicle.


No - Check and install a new navigation control module (NCM) if necessary. Refer to the new module/component installation note at the top of the DTC index.


Pinpoint test G: unstable current position of the vehicle


G1: Check system for DTCs


Check the system for stored DTCs. Are there any system-related DTCs stored?

Да - Perform repairs to correct the faults corresponding to the stored DTCs. Recheck the system for an unstable current vehicle position.
No - GO to G2.


G2: Vehicle speed input signal test


Select the vehicle sensor on the navigation system diagnostic screen (PIN code 660), check the current speed. The current speed value should match the speedometer reading. According to the vehicle sensor reading on the screen, does the current speed match the speedometer reading?

Да - GO to G3.
No - Perform MOST network tests. Check the ABS module for associated DTCs and refer to the appropriate DTC index. Perform network integrity tests using the manufacturer approved diagnostic system. Refer to the electrical diagrams to check the CAN bus circuits (if necessary). Repair the wiring harness as necessary.


G3: Check the number of satellites


On the GPS Navigation Diagnostics Information Screen (PIN 662), check the number of satellites displayed. Does the screen display the number of satellites as "0"?

Да - Perform fault localization test A "Poor satellite signal reception".
No - GO to G4.


G4: Check if symptoms occur in specific locations


Check if the symptom "Current vehicle position is unstable" occurs in certain places. Does the symptom "Current vehicle position is unstable" occur in certain places?



Да - The reason may be the reflection of signals from buildings or a specific location.
No - Perform fault localization test A "Poor satellite signal reception".


Pinpoint Test H: Incomplete Map Display


H1: Check system for DTCs


Check the system for stored DTCs. Are there any system-related DTCs stored?

Да - Perform repairs to correct the faults corresponding to the stored DTCs. Retest the system for the "Incomplete Map Display" symptom.
No - GO to H2.


H2: Check the roadmap disk


Check the road map disc for dirt, deformation, cracks, scratches. Make sure the original disc for the corresponding market is inserted. Is there a fault with the road map disc?

Да - Replace the road map disk. Recheck the system for the "Incomplete map display" symptom.
No - Check and install a new navigation control module (NCM) if necessary. Refer to the new module/component installation note at the top of the DTC index.


Pinpoint Test I: No Navigation Voice Guidance


I1: Check all audio output systems


Check the audio outputs of all systems. Are the audio outputs of all systems working?

No - GO to I3.


I2: Check the voice guidance soft key

J4: Check system for DTCs


Check the system for stored DTCs. Is DTC U300055 stored?

Да - Using the manufacturer approved diagnostic system, check/correct the vehicle configuration file parameter in Block 2, byte 127 according to the market/specification of the vehicle. If the DTC remains, check the navigation system module part number and ensure that the correct component is installed for the market/specification of the vehicle.
No - GO to J5.


J5: No response when pressing navigation menu keys


Turn off the engine, wait a moment, then turn on the engine again. The navigation system screen does not appear even when you press the navigation button?

Да - Check that the HLDF display is installed correctly. Check that the Navigation Control Module (NCM) is installed correctly.
No - The device is working properly.
