TD6 Accessory Drive Belt Tensioner (Range Rover 3)

Before disconnecting the battery, carefully read the "Disconnecting the Battery" section and follow all instructions therein.

GENERAL INFORMATION, Precautions when working with electrical equipment.

Removal
1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery.

2. Remove the accessory drive belt.

3. Remove the generator.

4. Loosen the Allen bolt that secures the accessory drive belt roller and remove the roller.

6. Remove the tensioner lever.



7. Remove and discard the tensioner lever seal.

8. Remove the 2 bolts securing the accessory drive belt tensioner to the lower timing cover.

9. Remove the tensioner.

Installation


1. Clean the tensioner block and mount.

2. Install the tensioner unit. Temporarily install the tensioner arm to align the spring unit with the timing cover. Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m. Remove the tensioner arm.

3. Clean the seat for the tensioner lever seal in the timing cover and install a new seal.

4. Securely secure the accessory drive belt tensioner to the timing cover. Install a new nut and tighten it to 10 N·m.

5. Install the generator.

6. Install the idler roller onto the mounting bracket and tighten the Allen bolt to 25 Nm.

7. Install the accessory drive belt.

8. Connect the ground cable of the battery.
