Important precautions (Discovery 3)

The use of proper maintenance techniques and the correct execution of repair procedures are important both for the safe, reliable operation of the vehicle itself and for the personal safety of the mechanic performing the job.

This manual cannot fully cover all options and provide recommendations and warnings for each of them. Anyone who intends to deviate from the instructions prescribed by this manual must understand that neither personal safety nor the vehicle itself must be sacrificed. And based on this, the necessary methods, tools and spare parts must be selected.

Anyone attempting to carry out repairs themselves must have the appropriate skills or training. Furthermore, they should limit repairs to those parts which do not affect the safety of the vehicle and its occupants. Any repairs to safety critical systems such as steering, braking, suspension and supplemental restraint systems should only be carried out by a Land Rover Dealer. Anyone who is not suitably trained MUST NOT attempt to repair these systems.
