Sizes of gaps and profiles (Freelander 1)

The following information is intended to guide technical personnel in the installation of exterior panels and decorative body parts. Its purpose is to ensure correct joining of the elements and an acceptable appearance of the vehicle.

The measured dimensions are shown in millimeters and inches. Dimensions in inches are given in brackets.



Gap "a" - from the hood to the headlight. The tolerance for the discrepancy in the gap sizes on different sides of the car is ±1.0 mm (0.040).

Gap "b" - from the hood to the upper bumper cover. The tolerance for the discrepancy in the gap sizes on different sides of the car is ±1.0 mm (0.040).

Gap "c" - from the headlight to the upper bumper cover. Visually equal gaps on the right and left with a difference of no more than 2 mm (0.080).

The tolerance for dimensions in sections EE and FF is ±1.0 mm (0.040). All other dimensions have a tolerance of ±0.5 mm (0.020).

Section DD - If the wing is intended for oven heat treatment, set the gap to 4.4mm (0.173) to allow for appropriate thermal expansion.

In section GG, the nominal gap size between the wing edge and the front door is 0.0 with a tolerance of +1.0 (0.040).

In the HH and JJ sections, the nominal gap size between the front door edge and the body is -2.5 mm (0.098) with a tolerance of +0.0 / -1.0 mm (0.040).

In the KK and LL sections, the nominal gap size between the edge of the front door and the body is 0.0 with a tolerance of +0.0 / -1.0 mm (0.040).

In the NN and PP sections, the nominal gap size between the edge of the rear door and the side panel of the body is 0.0 with a tolerance of +1.0 (0.040)/-0.0.
