Front Hardtop Latch and Retainer (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Remove the awning.

ROOF, REPAIR WORK, Frame and awning assembly - removal for access to the repair area and installation in place.

2. Remove the 2 Torx screws securing the latch, slide the latch to the side and remove it.



3. Remove the Torx screw securing the trim panel to the hardtop retainer.

4. Remove the 3 Torx screws securing the hardtop retainer and remove the retainer.

Installation

1. Install the hardtop retainer, install the Torx screws and tighten them to 10 Nm.

2. Tighten the Torx screw securing the trim panel.

3. Install the latch, tighten the Torx screws and tighten to 10 Nm.

Make sure the shaped washer is properly installed in the latch cavity.

4. Install the awning.
