Rear Hardtop Latch and Retainer (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Remove the hardtop or awning.

2. Unscrew the 2 screws securing the decorative panel of the rear 'E' pillar, release the panel from the 2 clips and remove it.



3. Remove the 3 Torx screws securing the latch and remove it.

4. Remove the lower decorative trim from the rear of the side panel.

5. Remove the 3 Torx screws securing the hardtop retainer and remove the retainer.

Installation

1. Install the latch, tighten the Torx screws to 10 Nm.

2. Install the decorative panel onto the 'E' pillar and secure it with clips and screws.

3. Install the hardtop retainer, install the Torx screws and tighten them to 10 Nm.

4. Install the lower decorative trim on the rear of the side panel.

5. Install a hardtop or awning.
