Central Control Unit (CCU) (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.



2. Open the glove box lid on the driver's side and remove the fuse box cover.



3. Loosen the bolt securing the fuse box mounting plate to the steering column mounting bracket.

4. Unscrew the 2 bolts securing the mounting plate to the body.

5. Remove the 2 bolts securing the fuse box to the mounting plate.

6. Disconnect the 3 connectors from the CCU at the rear of the fuse box.



7. Maneuver the fuse box to provide free access to the CCU.



8. Loosen the retaining clips and remove the CCU.

Installation

1. Position the CCU correctly and secure it in the clips.

2. Position the fuse box next to the mounting plate.

3. Attach the pads to the CCU.

4. Install the fuse box mounting bolts to the mounting plate and tighten them to 8 Nm.

5. Install the mounting plate and tighten the bolts to 8 Nm.

6. Replace the fuse box cover.

7. Close the glove compartment.

8. Connect the negative battery terminal.
