Air deflector (Freelander 2)

Removal

1. Open the roof hatch.

2. Remove the interior rearview mirror. Refer to procedure: Interior Rearview Mirror (501-09 Rearview Mirrors, Removal and Installation).

3. Remove both A-pillar trim panels. Refer to procedure: A-pillar Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim, Removal and Installation).

4. Remove the upper trim panels from both B-pillars. Refer to procedure: Upper B-Pillar Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim, Removal and Installation).

5. Remove both front passenger grab handles.



6. Remove both sun visors.



7. Starting at the front edge, carefully pry the headliner free to gain access.

CAUTION: To avoid damage, protect surrounding paintwork.

Installation

1. Install the air deflector.

2. Install the hinges on the air deflector.

3. Tension both springs.

4. Locate and secure the air deflector hinges.

5. Carefully install the ceiling trim.

6. Install sun visors.

7. Install passenger handrails.

8. Install the upper trim panels of both B-pillars. Refer to procedure: Upper Pillar Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim, Removal and Installation).

9. Install the upper trim panels for both A-pillars. Refer to procedure: Pillar Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim, Removal and Installation).

10. Install the interior rearview mirror. Refer to procedure: Interior Rearview Mirror (501-09 Rearview Mirrors, Removal and Installation).

11. Manually check the operation of the air deflector.
