Sun protection cover for sunroof (Freelander 2)

Removal

1. Remove both A-pillar trim panels. Refer to procedure: A-pillar Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim, Removal and Installation).

2. Remove the upper trim panels from both B-pillars. Refer to procedure: Upper B-Pillar Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim, Removal and Installation).

3. Remove both C-pillar trim panels. Refer to procedure: C-Pillar Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim, Removal and Installation).

4. Remove both D-pillar upper trim panels. Refer to procedure: D-Pillar Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim, Removal and Installation).

5. Remove the interior rearview mirror. Refer to procedure: Interior Rearview Mirror (501-09 Rearview Mirrors, Removal and Installation).

6. Remove both sun visors.



7. Remove the four passenger handrails.



8. Release the rear headliner.





9. Release the front door seals.



10. Remove the roof lining.



11. Close the sunroof panel curtain.

• Carefully slide the sunroof curtain tube to the right.
• Release the plastic pin from its holder.

Do not allow the sunroof blind tube to rotate. Do not release the metal pin from the holder until the locking rod has been inserted.

• Using a suitable rod (1mm diameter), lock the sunroof blind.
• Release the metal pin from its holder.

14. Remove the sunroof curtain.

Installation

1. Install the sunroof slider base onto the guides.

• Secure the metal pin into its holder.
• Remove the locking rod from the sunroof blind.
• Carefully slide the sunroof curtain tube to the right.
• Place the plastic pin into its holder and secure it.

CAUTION: Do not allow the sunroof shade tube to rotate until the plastic pin is secured in its holder.

1. Open the sunroof panel cover.

2. Secure the ceiling trim.

3. Secure the front door seals.

4. Secure the rear part of the headliner.

5. Install passenger handrails.

6. Install sun visors.

7. Install the interior rearview mirror. Refer to procedure: Interior Rearview Mirror (501-09 Rearview Mirrors, Removal and Installation).

8. Install the "D" pillar trim panels. Refer to procedure: "D" Pillar Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim, Removal and Installation).

9. Install the C-pillar trim panels. Refer to procedure: C-Pillar Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim, Removal and Installation).

10. Install the B-pillar trim panels. Refer to procedure: Upper B-Pillar Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim, Removal and Installation).

11. Install the A-pillar trim panels. Refer to procedure: A-Pillar Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim, Removal and Installation).
