The control unit, combined with the electric motor, is installed behind the headlining at the rear of the sunroof panel. The control unit uses the input signals from the CJB and the switch to control the operation of the motor.
The end of the rotor of the electric motor is made in the form of a worm gear, which drives a gear attached to the end of the electric motor. The gear is engaged with twisted cables in the frame of the sunroof panel, which together with the gear form an analogue of a rack and pinion.
The control unit includes a Hall sensor, which is used to count the revolutions made by the rotor of the electric motor. By counting the revolutions, the control unit can accurately determine when the glass panel has reached the fully open, closed, or tilted position. To do this, the control unit compares the value of the rotation of the rotor with the values stored in the memory of the control unit. These values are stored in the memory of the control unit during the initialization process.
The control unit also monitors the temperature of the electric motor and temporarily suspends its operation in case of possible overheating. The temperature protection function has 2 levels of operation:
- Level 1 - the control unit only allows you to close the sunroof panel.
- Level 2 - All functions are temporarily suspended, except for the anti-pinch function.
