Observe absolute cleanliness when handling these elements. If brake fluid comes into contact with the paintwork, immediately rinse the affected area with cold water.
Removing
All vehicles
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
WARNING: Place secure stands under the vehicle.
2. Disconnect the battery ground wire. Refer to procedure: Specifications (414-00 Charging system - General information, Specifications).
3. Remove the battery shelf. Refer to procedure: Battery installation shelf (414-01 Battery, battery mount and wires, Removal and installation).
Right-hand drive vehicles
4. Remove the mixing chamber panel.
Left-hand drive vehicles
5. Remove the electric motor and the lever drive of a cleaner of a windshield. Refer to Procedure: Windshield Wiper Motor (501-16 Windshield wipers and washers, Removal and installation).

CAUTION: Plug all openings.

Prepare to collect spilled liquid. Plug all openings.
Right-hand drive vehicles

Prepare to collect spilled liquid. Plug all openings.

Prepare to collect spilled liquid. Plug all openings.
Installation
All vehicles
1. Install the ABS module. Tightening torque: 10 Nm
2. Install the brake lines. Tightening torque: 15 Nm
3. Install the battery shelf support. Tightening torque: M6 - 10 Nm, M8 - 25 Nm
Left-hand drive vehicles
4. Connect the vacuum line of the vacuum brake booster.
All vehicles
5. Install the ECM.
6. Attach the vacuum line and connection block.
Left-hand drive vehicles
7. Install the windshield wiper motor and linkage. Refer to Procedure: Windshield Wiper Motor (501-16 Windshield wipers and washers, Removal and installation).
Right-hand drive vehicles
8. Install the collection chamber panel.
All vehicles
9. Install the battery shelf. Refer to procedure: Battery installation shelf (414-01 Battery, battery mount and wires, Removal and installation).
10. Connect a wire of weight to the accumulator. Refer to procedure: Specifications (414-00 Charging system - General information, Specifications).
11. Remove air from the brake system. Refer to Procedure: Bleeding the Brake System (206-00 Brake System - General Information, General Procedures).
12. If a new item was installed, configure using Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment.
