Raising the rear of the car (Freelander 2)

Since there is no central jacking point at the rear of the vehicle, it is not possible to lift both sides at the same time.

WARNING: When jacking up the front of the vehicle, always place chocks under the front wheels.

Apply the parking brake. Move the automatic transmission selector to the 'P' - Park position. Move the manual transmission lever to the 'N' - Neutral position.



Place the jack pad under the rear jacking point located on the rear differential support bracket, item 3.

Once the vehicle is raised to the desired height, position the supports as shown in the figure and carefully lower the jack until the vehicle rests on the support(s), pos. 1 or 2.

WARNING: Do not work from underneath a jacked vehicle unless axle stands have been installed in the designated areas.

CAUTION: To prevent damage, place a suitable block under the body.

To remove the vehicle from the stands, perform the above operations in reverse order.
