General information
WARNING: The following instructions must be observed when lifting the vehicle.
- Park the vehicle on a level and firm surface.
- Apply the parking brake.
- Move the automatic transmission selector to the 'P' - PARK position.
- Move the manual transmission lever to the 'N' - Neutral position (neutral gear).
WARNING: If it is necessary to remove the drive shaft (shafts), it is necessary to raise the car completely so that the shaft can be rotated (shafts). DO NOT use the customer's jack and make sure the vehicle is securely supported by the axles. When the vehicle is raised, the automatic transmission selector must be moved to the Neutral - 'N' position so that the drive shaft can be rotated (shafts).
To avoid damage to underbody components, the following instructions must be observed:
Do not place jacks or stands under the following items:
- Any body structure not intended to be jacked or lifted
- Rear subframe
- Bumpers
- Fuel lines
- Fuel tank
- brake pipes
- Front or rear suspension arms
- Tie rods
- Rear differential block
- Transmission
- Engine Oil Pan - See Note Below
NOTE: Some repairs may require the installation of an engine oil pan stand. In this case, a block of wood or rubber must be placed on the jack support to protect the oil pan.
Hydraulic jack
Do not start work from below the vehicle, hung out on a jack, if stands under the bridges have not been installed in the places provided.
When raising the front of the vehicle, always place wheel chocks under the rear wheels of the vehicle.
Only hydraulic jacks with a minimum load capacity of at least 1500 kg may be used.
Lifting the vehicle and placing stands
To help raise the vehicle, use the recommended jacking points on the door sill or on the jack stand at the rear of the front subframe as shown in the illustrations below.
