Make sure the remote control is in the original slot when the vehicle is towed. Removing the remote control from the slot will cause the steering column lock to become locked, preventing proper vehicle control.


If the engine does not work while the vehicle is being towed, the power steering and brake booster will not work. As a result, you will have to apply increased force to the steering or to brake, which will significantly increase the braking distance.


The vehicle should only be towed with all four wheels on the ground. Towing with two wheels on the ground will cause serious damage to the transmission.


Towing is permitted for a distance of no more than 80 km at a speed of no more than 80 km/h. Towing for a longer distance or at a higher speed may cause serious damage to the transmission.


NOTE: The recommended recovery method is to raise all four wheels.


Towing procedure


1. The vehicle must be parked on a firm surface with the parking brake applied and the selector lever in the P (Park) position if the vehicle is equipped with an automatic transmission.
2. Attach the towing hitch of the tow truck to the front towing eye of the vehicle being towed.
CAUTION: Leaving the ignition on for an extended period will drain the battery.

3. Insert the remote control into the socket and turn on the ignition.
4. Press the brake pedal and move the lever to neutral position.
5. Without releasing the brake pedal, release the parking brake.


6. Towing is permitted for a distance of no more than 80 km at a speed of no more than 80 km/h.
7. When you arrive at your destination, make sure that the vehicle is parked on a firm surface if possible.
8. Apply the parking brake and move the selector lever to position P (Park).
9. Turn off the ignition and remove the remote control from the socket.
WARNING: Use extreme caution when disconnecting the towing equipment. The vehicle may move, which could result in serious injury.

10. Disconnect the towing hitch from the towing eye.

Mounting lugs


Use only the front and rear tie-down eyes, DO NOT attach the tie-downs or straps to any other part of the vehicle.

Transportation by trailer


CAUTION: Use only the front and rear tie-down eyes, DO NOT attach the tie-down parts or straps to any other part of the vehicle.


After parking the vehicle, apply the parking brake and move the lever to the 'N' - Neutral position. The recommended method of towing/transporting the vehicle is a tow truck or trailer designed for this purpose.
