Electric seat back adjustment (Range Rover 3)

Dismantling

1. Remove the seat assembly.

SEATS, REPAIR WORK, Front seat.

2. Remove the Allen screw securing the armrest.

3. Remove the armrest from the hinge protrusion.

4. Remove the headrest.

5. Release the 3 seat back panel tensioner straps under the seat.

6. Release the brackets securing the backrest upholstery to the bottom of the backrest panel.

7. Release the edges of the upholstery on both sides of the seat back panel.

8. Remove the 2 pins securing the bottom of the backrest panel.

9. Separate the back panel from the seat.

10. Disconnect the connectors from the headrest and upper backrest adjustment motors.

11. Disconnect the lumbar support cable connector from the pump and valve.

12. Disconnect the connector from the seat heater.

13. Release the backrest wiring harness from the 4 clips.

14. Remove the 2 Torx screws and remove the backrest frame from the seat frame.

15. Remove the 2 drive unit retaining clips.

16. Carefully remove the electric drive unit from the mounting stops. Disconnect the drive cable from the electric drive unit.

Assembly

1. Connect the drive cable to the electric drive unit.

2. Carefully install the electric drive unit onto the mounting stops.

3. Install 2 drive unit retaining clips.

4. Align the backrest frame with the seat frame, install the Torx screws and tighten them to 25 Nm.

5. Install the backrest wiring harness and secure it to the clips.

6. Connect the cable connectors to the headrest and upper backrest adjustment motor connectors.

7. Connect the connector to the seat heater connector.

8. Connect the lumbar support cable connectors to the pump and valve.

9. Place the backrest panel onto the assembled seat and install the bottom of the backrest panel retaining pins.

10. Secure both edges of the seat cushion upholstery to the back panel.

11. Staple the bottom of the upholstery to the back panel.

12. Attach the backrest panel tension straps to the fasteners at the bottom of the seat.

13. Install the armrest onto the hinge and tighten the Allen screw to 25 Nm.

14. Install the seat in the vehicle.
