Dismantling
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Disconnect the generator.
3. Disconnect all electronic units.
4. Remove the wheel(s).
5. Remove the rear bumper.
EXTERIOR PARTS, REPAIR WORK, Rear bumper assembly - for cars up to model year 2004.
6. Remove the rear wheel arch liner.
7. Remove the lower panel of the rear part of the body side.
INTERIOR TRIM PARTS, REPAIR WORK, Lower decorative panel of the luggage compartment of a 5-door car.
8. Remove the rear seat.
SEATS, REPAIR WORK, Rear left seat.
SEATS, REPAIR WORK, Rear right seat.
9. Remove the rear shock absorber.
REAR SUSPENSION, REPAIR WORK, Shock absorber.
10. Right side: Remove the fuel tank filler neck.
FUEL SUPPLY SYSTEM OF GASOLINE ENGINE, ADJUSTMENTS, Filler pipe.
11. Right side: Remove the fuel tank from the vehicle.
FUEL SUPPLY SYSTEM OF GASOLINE ENGINE, ADJUSTMENTS, Fuel tank: except for North American market countries.
Repair works
1. Remove damaged panels, prepare joint edges and install new panels in accordance with the Body Panel Repair Rules. Punch or drill holes in the panel to be installed for the plug weld, as shown in the figure.
Installation
1. Right side: Install the fuel tank on the vehicle.
FUEL SUPPLY SYSTEM OF GASOLINE ENGINE, ADJUSTMENTS, Fuel tank: except for North American market countries.
2. Right side: Install the fuel tank filler neck.
FUEL SUPPLY SYSTEM OF GASOLINE ENGINE, ADJUSTMENTS, Filler pipe.
3. Install the rear shock absorber.
REAR SUSPENSION, REPAIR WORK, Shock absorber.

4. Replace the rear seat.
SEATS, REPAIR WORK, Rear left seat.
SEATS, REPAIR WORK, Rear right seat.
5. Install the lower panel of the rear part of the body side.

6. Reinstall the rear wheel arch liner.
7. Reinstall the rear bumper.
EXTERIOR PARTS, REPAIR WORK, Rear bumper assembly - for cars up to model year 2004.
8. Replace the wheel(s) and tighten the nuts to 115 Nm.
9. Connect all electronic units.
10. Connect the generator.
11. Connect the negative battery terminal.
