Dismantling
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Drain the air conditioning system and collect the refrigerant.

3. Loosen the 2 bolts securing the air conditioner pipes to the thermostatic valve, disconnect the pipes, remove and discard the sealing rings. Plug the air conditioner pipe openings.
CAUTION: Do not disconnect the air conditioner hoses until the system has been completely drained.

4. Remove the 2 Allen screws securing the thermostatic expansion valve to the engine compartment bulkhead. Remove the valve and discard the sealing rings.
CAUTION: Before disconnecting or removing system components, make sure that the adjacent surfaces of the joints are free of dirt. Install plugs in the openings of the fittings and pipes to prevent dirt from entering the system.
Installation
1. Clean mating surfaces and seal locations of the evaporator, expansion valve (TXV) and piping.
2. Lubricate new O-rings with clean refrigerant and install them on the expansion valve lines.
3. Connect the pipes to the thermostatic valve and tighten the bolts to 5 Nm.
4. Fill the air conditioning system.

5. Connect the negative battery terminal.
