Dismantling


1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Raise the front of the vehicle.

CAUTION: Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle with safety stands.


3. Remove the lower engine protection shield.

4. Remove the refrigerant from the air conditioning system.

5. Remove the generator.

6. Disconnect the connector block from the compressor.

7. Unscrew the 2 bolts securing the air conditioner pipes to the compressor. Disconnect the air conditioner pipes from the compressor.

CAUTION: Before disconnecting or removing system components, make sure that the adjacent surfaces of the joints are free of dirt. Install plugs in the openings of the fittings and pipes to prevent dirt from entering the system.


8. Remove and discard the sealing rings from the air conditioner lines.

9. Unscrew the 3 bolts securing the compressor to the support bracket.

10. Release the compressor from its mounting on the support bracket and remove it from underneath the vehicle.

11. Drain the refrigerant from the compressor and record the amount of refrigerant drained.

Installation


1. If a new compressor is installed, it is necessary to drain the specified amount of refrigerant from it.

2. The new compressor is hermetically sealed.

It contains nitrogen under pressure. Remove the lid slowly. Once the seal is broken, you will hear the characteristic noise of gas escaping under pressure.

3. Make sure that the mating surfaces of the air conditioner pipes and the compressor flange are clean.

4. Lubricate the new air conditioner line sealing rings with clean refrigerant.

5. Install the sealing rings on the air conditioner pipes.

6. Install the air conditioning compressor on the support bracket. Tighten its mounting bolts to 25 Nm.

7. Install the compressor support bracket. Tighten the bolts to 25 Nm.



8. Connect the electrical connector to the air conditioning compressor.

9. Install the generator.

10. Replace the receiver moisture separator.

11. Fill the air conditioning system.

12. Remove the supports and lower the vehicle.

13. Connect the negative battery terminal.

14. Reinstall the lower engine protection shield.
