Dismantling
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the front bumper.
EXTERIOR PARTS, REPAIR WORK, Front bumper assembly - for cars up to model year 2004.
3. Drain the coolant from the cooling system.
COOLING SYSTEM: Td4 engine, ADJUSTMENTS, Draining coolant, flushing the system and filling.
4. Place a container to collect any leaking coolant.

5. Loosen the clamps and remove the inlet and outlet hoses from the FBH heater.
CAUTION: Before disconnecting or removing system components, make sure that the adjacent surfaces of the joints are free of dirt. Install plugs in the openings of the fittings and pipes to prevent dirt from entering the system.
6. Place an absorbent cloth, loosen the clamp and remove the fuel supply hose from the FBH heater. Close the hose with a plug and move it to the side.

7. Loosen 1 bolt and unscrew the remaining bolts securing the FBH heater support bracket to the body.

8. Remove the heater from the support, disconnect the connector blocks and move the unit to the side.
NOTE: If disassembly was performed only to provide access to other system components, no further disassembly operations should be performed.

9. Remove the 3 screws securing the heater to the support.
10. Remove the support.

11. Loosen the clamp securing the air supply hose to the FBH heater and remove the clamp from the outlet pipe.
12. Unscrew the 2 bolts securing the air supply hose and outlet pipe assembly to the FBH heater and move the assembly to the side.
Installation
1. Install the exhaust pipe, air supply hose and bracket assembly onto the FBH heater.
2. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 10 Nm.
3. Tighten the exhaust pipe clamp bolt to 5 Nm.
4. Align the hose with the mark on the body and secure it with a clamp.
5. Install the heater support bracket and tighten the bolts to 10 Nm.
6. Connect the pads to the heater connectors.
7. Install the FBH heater on the body and tighten the bolts to 10 Nm.
8. Connect the cooling system hoses to the heater and secure them with clamps.
9. Connect the fuel supply hose to the heater and secure it with a clamp.
10. Fill the engine with coolant.
COOLING SYSTEM: Td4 engine, ADJUSTMENTS, Draining coolant, flushing the system and filling.
11. Reinstall the front bumper.

12. Connect the negative battery terminal.
