SRS Warning Labels (Freelander 1)

Warning symbols located in various places on the vehicle (in a suitable visible place, such as on the front side windows, or affixed to vehicle parts) indicate the location of SRS components that should be handled with particular care. These include:



A - The need to observe safety regulations when working in close proximity to SRS components.

B - Refer to manuals that provide procedures, instructions, and tips (usually the Repair Manual or Vehicle Owner's Manual) on working on the SRS system.

C - If the vehicle is equipped with a front passenger airbag, it is forbidden to install a child safety seat in the front seat designed to transport children sitting facing the traffic.

Warning labels are attached to the SRS components and may also be located on the vehicle's interior panels near the SRS components or cables. The driver and front passenger airbag modules have "SRS AIRBAG" embossed into the plastic covers to indicate the presence of airbags. Other SRS warning labels include:

On the edge of the control panel

A sticker located on the end of the instrument panel warns against installing a rear-facing child seat in the front passenger seat in vehicles equipped with a front passenger airbag.

Rotary contactor

A - Refer to the Repair Manual for detailed instructions.

B - Before removal and installation, set the steering wheels to the straight-ahead position.

C - LAND ROVER part number and code. The code should be written down and used when ordering the part.

Front seat belt pretensioners

Warning stickers are attached to the piston tubes of the front seat belt pretensioners.

• Exercise caution.
• Refer to the manuals that provide procedures, instructions, and tips (usually the Repair Manual or Owner's Manual) for working on the SRS system.
• Do not attempt to repair or disassemble.

Barcode

Barcodes are applied to SRS components and to components that affect the operation of the SRS system. If it is necessary to replace the airbag, then its number should be written off according to the Land Rover designation. Barcodes are applied to the following components:

• Driver's front airbag module - the sticker is applied to the rear of the module housing.
• Front passenger airbag module - the sticker is applied to the rear of the module housing.
• Rotary contactor - the sticker is applied to the front surface of the rotary contactor.
• SRS Diagnostic Control Unit (DCU) - The lettering is included in the sticker on the top of the DCU.
• SRS Wire Harness - Sticker wrapped around wire harness.
