Cooling Fan and Fan Motor: Without Air Conditioning (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.



2. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the relay housing and from the fan motors.

3. Remove the wiring harness from the fan housing.



4. Unscrew the 4 bolts securing the fan casing to the radiator.

5. With the help of a partner, carefully remove the fan housing with the engine.



6. Unscrew the three bolts securing the engine to the fan casing and remove the engine with the fan.

Installation

1. Install the fan assembly with the electric motor on the fan casing, screw in the screws and tighten them to a torque of 5 Nm.

2. Install the fan assembly with the electric motor on the radiator, screw in the screws and tighten them to a torque of 5 Nm.

3. Secure the relay and wiring harness to the fan shroud.

4. Connect the connectors.

5. Connect the negative battery terminal.
