Dismantling
1. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.
2. Turn the steering wheel all the way to the right.
3. Turn away 3 bolts of fastening of the right dirt-protective panel and remove the panel.
4. Using a 13 wrench, turn the accessory drive belt tensioner by the hexagon, fully clockwise to loosen the belt tension.
5. While holding the tensioner in this position, insert a pin, up to 3 mm in diameter, through the center of the hex into the back plate of the tensioner.
6. Remove the belt from the alternator pulley.
7. Turn out the top bolt of fastening of the generator and loosen the bottom bolt.
8. Move the generator forward to provide access to the heat shield.
9. Turn away a nut and 2 bolts of fastening of a heat-shielding screen.
10. Remove the heat shield.
Installation
1. Install the heat shield.
2. Install the heat shield on the alternator mounting stud, fit the nut and bolts. Tighten the nut to 25 Nm and the bolts to 10 Nm.
3. Install the generator on the bracket and screw in the bolt.
4. Tighten both alternator mounting bolts to 45 Nm.
5. Place the accessory drive belt over the pulleys, remove the pin and release the belt tensioner.
6. Check that the belt is in the correct position on all pulleys.
7. Install the mudguard panel and secure it with bolts.
8. Place the steering wheel in the straight ahead position.
9. Attach "negative" battery terminal.
