Measuring pressure in the fuel supply system (Freelander 1)

Examination

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Place a rag under the fuel line to collect any spilled fuel.

CAUTION: Fuel leakage is inevitable during this operation. Take safety measures to prevent fire or explosion.

3. Disconnect the fuel pipe from the intake manifold.

4. Attach the LRT-19-004A tool to the intake manifold and to the fuel pipe.

NOTE: LRT-19-004X fixture may also be used.

5. Connect the negative battery terminal.

6. Start the engine. In idle mode, the pressure = 3.6±0.2 bar.

7. Stop the engine. If the pressure is outside the specified limits, then the following should be checked, in the order listed: fuel hoses, filter, fuel pump.

8. Remove the plug, reconnect the vacuum hose and secure the hose with a clamp.

9. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

10. Disconnect the LRT - 19-004A tool from the fuel hose and from the intake manifold.

11. Connect the fuel pipe to the manifold.

12. Connect the negative battery terminal.
