Electrically operated and heated exterior mirrors are standard. Depending on specification and trim level, the following options are available:
- Electrically powered folding (function controlled via switch block) and automatic folding (function controlled via remote control)
- Remembering and restoring the position
- Mirror tilt when selecting reverse gear
- Exterior mirror lamps
The power folding/automatic folding function is only available if the vehicle is equipped with power mirrors.
The driver cannot configure the automatic folding and tilting mirror functions when reverse gear is selected, but these functions can be activated or deactivated by the dealer using a Land Rover approved diagnostic system. The diagnostic system activates or deactivates one or both functions by configuring the EEPROM memory in the instrument cluster.
The left door mirror has an outside air temperature sensor built into it and is hardwired to the ECM. The ECM communicates with the CJB and other control modules via the high speed CAN bus. The sensor sends information to the ECM, where it is relayed via the medium speed CAN bus for use by other control modules. On vehicles with a high level instrument cluster, the CJB sends a temperature signal to the instrument cluster, which displays outside temperature information to the driver.
