CAUTION: Diagnosis by substituting a component from another vehicle is NOT allowed. The substitution of control units does not guarantee confirmation of the fault and, moreover, may cause additional faults in the tested vehicle and/or in the vehicle from which the units are removed.
1. Visually inspect for obvious signs of damage and system integrity.
Mechanical elements:
- Tire pressure
- Tire/wheel damage
- Installing/damaging a low tire pressure sensor
- Installing/damaging the front activator
- Installing/damaging the rear activator
Electrical factors:
- Fuses
- Central electrical box (CJB)
- Electrical connectors/wiring harnesses
- RF receiver (TPMS receiver)
2. If there is an obvious cause for a problem you identified or described by a customer, resolve it before proceeding with the next steps (if possible).
3. If the cause is not visually obvious, check for DTCs and refer to the Diagnostic Trouble Code Index (DTC).
