Removal and installation a fuel heater (Freelander 2)

NOTE: The removal procedure descriptions in this manual may contain installation steps.

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to procedure: Specifications (414-00 Charging System - General Information, Specifications).

2. Raise and support the vehicle.

WARNING: Ensure that the vehicle is supported securely.

3. Drain the coolant. Refer to procedure: Draining/Filling Coolant and Bleeding the Cooling System (303-03B Engine Cooling - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4, General Procedures).

4. Remove the right fender splash shield. Refer to procedure: Fender Splash Shield (501-02 Front Body Panels, Removal and Installation).

5. Tightening torque: 10 Nm

• Place a container underneath to collect any leaking liquid
• Disconnect the two coolant hoses
• Disconnect the fuel line

Fluid may leak. Plug all openings. Install new plugs.

7. Tightening torque: 10 Nm





8. Remove the fuel-fired auxiliary heater.

Installation

1. Install the elements back in place, working in reverse order.
