Fuel filter (Freelander 2)

After stopping the engine, wait at least one minute before performing any repairs to the fuel injection system.

Avoid the presence of open flames, sparks or flammable materials.

Prepare to collect any leaking fuel.

Removal

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to procedure: Specifications (414-00 Charging System - General Information, Specifications).

2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to procedure: Engine Cover - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4 (501-05 Interior Trim, Removal and Installation).



4. Tightening torque: 9 Nm

Make sure there is no tension in the fuel lines and wiring harnesses. Make sure the fuel pressure is relieved to zero and the fuel temperature is at ambient temperature.

Prepare to collect any leaking fuel. Plug all openings. Use new plugs. Maintain absolute cleanliness when handling this element.

6. Tightening torque: 9 Nm

Installation

1. Install the elements back in place in reverse order.

2. Bleed the fuel system. Refer to procedure: Bleeding the Fuel System - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4 (310-00 Fuel Delivery System - General Information, General Procedures).
