Power transmission unit (automatic transmission) (Freelander 2)

Removal

1. Raise the car on a lift.

2. Remove the drive shaft. Refer to the procedure: Drive Shaft - Vehicle does not include: Diesel Fuel Filter (205-01 Drive Shaft, Removal and Installation).

3. Remove the catalytic converter. Refer to the procedure: Catalytic Converter - Vehicles Not Equipped with: Diesel Fuel Filter (309-00B Exhaust System - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4, Removal and Installation).

4. Remove the lower engine stabilizer bar. Refer to procedure: Lower Engine Mount Insulator (303-01A Engine - 3.2L NA - I6, Removal and Installation).

5. Remove the right half shaft. Refer to the procedure: Right Half Shaft (205-04 Front Drive Axle Shafts, Removal and Installation).



7. Tightening torque: 25 Nm



8. Tightening torque: 10 Nm





9. Tightening torque: 65 Nm





11. Tightening torque: 60 Nm

NOTE: This operation must be performed with an assistant.

12. Tightening torque: 10 Nm

Installation

1. For technical specifications of the liquid, see the technical specifications section.

CAUTION: Clean the element from dirt, grease and foreign particles.

NOTE: Apply the required amount of grease to meet specifications.

2. Install the components in the reverse order of disassembly.
