Transfer case right seal (Freelander 2)

Removal

1. Raise and support the vehicle.

WARNING: Ensure that the vehicle is supported securely.

2. Remove the right front axle shaft seal. Refer to procedure: Right Front Axle Shaft Seal (308-03 Manual/Transaxle Transmission, Removal and Installation).



4. Tightening torque: 25 Nm



5. Tightening torque: 65 Nm





6. Special tool: 308-617



7. Special tool: 308-615, 100-012

Installation

1. Special tool: 205-872



2. When installing, perform the removal procedure in reverse order.

3. Check the transfer case transmission fluid level. Add fluid if necessary. Refer to procedure: Checking the Transfer Case Fluid Level (308-07B Transfer Case, General Procedures).
