Removal


1. Raise and support the vehicle.

WARNING: Ensure that the vehicle is supported securely.


2. Remove the transfer case. Refer to the procedure: Power Transfer Unit - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4, Vehicle includes: 6-speed manual transmission with drive axle - M66 AWD (308-07B Transfer Case, Removal and Installation).

Be very careful not to damage the seal. Inspect the seal and replace it if damaged

Installation


1. Special tool: 205-873/2

CAUTION: To avoid damage to the special tool and the formation of splinters, use a soft-faced hammer.

2. When installing, perform the removal procedure in reverse order.



3. Install the transfer case. Refer to the procedure: Power Transfer Unit - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4, Vehicle includes: 6-speed manual transmission with drive axle - M66 AWD (308-07B Transfer Case, Removal and Installation).

4. Check the transfer case fluid level and add fluid if necessary. Refer to procedure: Checking the Transfer Case Fluid Level (308-07B Transfer Case, General Procedures).
