Windshield wiper motor and linkage (Discovery 1)

1. Disconnect the battery.

2. Remove the brush arms.

3. Unscrew the nuts securing the brush arm drive shafts, remove the steel and rubber washers.

4. Open the hood.

5. Remove the air intake concave panel seal.

6. Disconnect the hoses from the washer nozzles.

7. Unscrew the central bolt of the concave panel.

8. Unscrew the bolts securing the central section of the concave panel.

9. Remove the center section of the concave panel.

10. Loosen the nut and bolt securing the ground cable of the brush motor to the body.

11. Remove the five screws securing the electric motor board.

12. Lift the board together with the electric motor and lever mechanism, disconnect the wiring connector and remove the board from the vehicle.

13. Unscrew the nut securing the rotating lever to the engine shaft and remove the lever.

14. Unscrew the electric motor mounting bolts and remove it from the board.

15. Remove the retaining rings and remove the levers from the axles. Remember the position of the spring and flat washers.

16. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Replace the sealing bushings if necessary.
