Axle tube (Discovery 3)

Removal

1. Remove the right half shaft. For more information, refer to Front Right Drive Shaft (47.10.02)

2. Remove the bridge tube.

• Remove the bolt from the bushing.
• Remove 4 bolts.
• Turn and remove the bridge tube.
• Early models: Remove the O-ring and discard it.
• Late models: Remove sealant.

Installation

1. Install the bridge tube.

• Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.
• Early models: Install a new O-ring.
• Late models: Apply sealant to the mating surface. For more information, refer to Specifications
• Tighten the 4 axle tube bolts (tightening torque 50 Nm).
• Tighten the bushing bolt (tightening torque 63 Nm).

2. Install the right half shaft. For more information, refer to Front Right Drive Shaft (47.10.02)
