Fuse Box — Passenger Compartment (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Open the glove compartment.

3. Remove the hinge pin and cover.

4. Remove the fuse box cover.



5. Remove the relay from the fuse box mounting plate.

6. Loosen the bolt securing the fuse box mounting plate to the steering column mounting bracket.

7. Unscrew the 2 bolts securing the mounting plate to the body.

8. Remove the 2 bolts securing the fuse box to the mounting plate.



9. Disconnect the 3 connectors from the CCU at the rear of the fuse box.

10. Remove the fuse box and disconnect the 8 electrical connectors.

11. Remove the fuse box.

12. Remove the fuses and relays from the fuse box.

Installation

1. Identify and install fuses.



2. Install the relay.

3. Reinstall the fuse box.

4. Connect the connectors to the fuse box.

5. Attach the pads to the CCU.

6. Install the fuse box mounting bolts to the mounting plate and tighten them to 8 Nm.

7. Install the fuse box mounting plate bolts to the body and tighten them to 8 Nm.

8. Install the relay into the mounting plate.

9. Replace the fuse box cover.

10. Reinstall the glove box lid and hinge pin.

11. Close the glove compartment.

12. Connect the negative battery terminal.
