Front bumper cover (Freelander 2)

Removal

1. Raise and support the vehicle.

WARNING: Do not work on a vehicle supported solely by a jack. Always place reliable supports under the vehicle.

2. Remove the front wheels. Refer to the procedure: Wheel and Tire (204-04 Wheels and Tires, Removal and Installation).

3. Remove the towing device hole plug.



4. Remove the front right and left mudguards.



5. Disconnect the front bumper trim from the right and left mudguards.



6. With the help of another mechanic, release the front bumper trim.





7. With the help of another mechanic, remove the front bumper trim.

NOTE: Some fluid will inevitably spill during this operation.

8. Remove 2 washer nozzles.

NOTE: Do not continue disassembly if the component is removed only for access.

9. Remove the 4 parking assist sensors.



10. Remove the front fog lights.





11. Carefully remove the label.



12. If available: Remove the license plate.

13. If equipped: Remove the license plate panel.

Installation

1. Install the license plate panel (if equipped).

2. Install the license plate (if available).

3. Set the shortcut.

4. Install the front fog lights.

5. Install parking assistance system sensors.

6. Install the washer nozzles.

7. With the help of another mechanic, install the front bumper fascia and tighten the fasteners to 10 N·m (7 ft·lbs).

8. Install the mud flaps.

9.Install the towing device hole plug.
