Door modules

In addition to controlling the power window system, the front door modules also control the following functions:
  • Locking Doors For additional information, refer to the chapter: Handles, Locks, Latches, and Entry Systems (501-14 Handles, Locks, Latches, and Entry Systems, Description and Operation).
  • Adjusting and heating the outside mirrors. For more information, refer to the chapter:
    • Rearview Mirrors (501-09 Rearview Mirrors, Description and Operating Principle)
    • Control components (412-01 Climate control, Description and operating principle)
  • Exterior mirror lamps. For further information, refer to the chapter: Interior lighting (417-02 Interior lighting, Description and operating principle).

The rear door modules control only the windows and door locking.

The door modules are color-coded for proper placement on the vehicle. The driver's door module and both rear door modules are black. The front passenger door module is gray. The wiring harness connectors are also color-coded for connection to the corresponding door modules.

NOTE: Both rear door modules are identical.

If a front door module detects a fault, a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored in the module memory. The DTC can be read using the Land Rover approved diagnostic system. If one of the rear door modules detects a fault, the DTC is stored in the corresponding front door module. For further information, refer to: Glass, Frames and Mechanisms (501-11 Glass, Frames and Mechanisms, Diagnosis and Testing).
