Removal
1. Remove the rear quarter trim panel. Refer to procedure: Rear Quarter Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim, Removal and Installation).
2. Remove the C-pillar trim panel. Tightening torque: 3 Nm
WARNING: Use a new bolt.

3. Remove the D-pillar trim panel.

4. Remove the rear quarter panel molding. Refer to procedure: Rear Quarter Panel Molding (501-08 Exterior Trim, Removal and Installation).
5. Cut off the sealant from the rear side window.

- Thread the glazing wire through the entire glass.
- Thread the glazing wire through the windshield sealant and into the vehicle.

7. Use glazing wire to cut the sealant.
WARNING: Wear protective gloves and glasses.
CAUTION: To avoid damage, protect surrounding paintwork.
Installation
1. Apply etching primer to all exposed metal areas.
2. Apply primer over the etching primer.
3. Apply glass primer to the surface of the rear side window sealant and allow it to cure.
4. Apply the activator compound to the old rear side window sealant and allow it to harden.

5. Install the nozzle with the prepared cut onto the cartridge with sealant, remove the cap, shake out the solid particles and install the cartridge on the gun for applying sealant.
6. Adjust the nozzle to obtain a bead of sealant with a regular triangle in cross-section, having a base of 8 mm and a height of 12 mm.
7. Apply a continuous bead of sealant to the glass.

8. Install the glass with assistance.
9. Apply light pressure to the window glass to seal it against the sealant.
10. Secure the rear side window glass in place with adhesive tape.
11. Check the tightness of the joint, apply more sealant if necessary. If water is used for testing, do not test until the sealant has dried. Direct a stream of water at the glass and check for leaks. Mark the location of the leaks. Dry the glass and sealant, then apply more sealant.
12. Install the rear quarter panel molding. Refer to procedure: Rear Quarter Panel Molding (501-08 Exterior Trim, Removal and Installation).
13. Install the C-pillar trim panel.
WARNING: Use a new bolt.
14. Install the D-pillar trim panel.
15. Install the rear quarter trim panel. Refer to procedure: Rear Quarter Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim, Removal and Installation).
