The laminated windshield is bonded and sealed to the body opening using polyurethane (PU) adhesive. A mounting lug for the interior rearview mirror is fixed to the inside surface of the windshield. Depending on the vehicle specification, 2 heating elements may be provided on the windshield.
The tempered rear window is also bonded and sealed to the body opening using polyurethane (PU) adhesive. One heating element is applied to the inner surface of the rear window.
The operation of the window lift system is controlled by the CJB in conjunction with the driver's door module and the front passenger door module. The door modules are mounted to the respective front window regulators. Door modules are also mounted to both rear window regulators and communicate with the front door modules via a Local Interconnect Network (LIN) bus.
The power window system features one-touch up and down functionality and an anti-pinch function for all door windows.
If the battery has been disconnected, the window lift system will need to be recalibrated after it has been reconnected. The following sequence of operations must be performed to calibrate the system.
With the ignition on:
- Close the window completely and release the switch.
- Press the close switch again and hold it for about 2 seconds.
- Open the window fully and release the switch.
- Press the open switch again and hold it for about 2 seconds.
- Perform the same steps on the remaining windows.
