Rear door glass and window lifter (Discovery 1)

1. Close the window completely, secure the window glass with adhesive tape to prevent the glass from falling.

2. Disconnect the battery.

3. Remove the door trim panel.

4. Remove the plastic door opening seal.

5. Remove the window lift drive and motor (if equipped, see. "Electrical equipment of a car").

6. Remove the 4 screws securing the window lift mechanism to the inner panel.



7. Carefully remove the lifting arm from the glass guide, remove the window lift mechanism through the lower cutout of the inner panel.

8. Remove the glass seal from the top of the panel.



9. From inside the door, unscrew one bolt securing the lower short glass guide, remove the spring and flat washers.

10. Unscrew the 2 door hinge mounting bolts.



11. Unscrew the 2 bolts securing the window frame to the end of the door.

12. Remove the glass from the door together with the frame.

13. Remove the adhesive tape holding the glass in place and remove the glass from the frame.

14. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
