Steering Column Lock Module (Freelander 2)

NOTE: On vehicles with VIN 091770 and later, the steering column lock module may not function.

NOTE: The column lock assembly is secured with 2 x 6mm tamper-proof bolts.

NOTE: The removal procedure description may contain installation steps.

Removal

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to Procedure: Specifications (414-00 Charging System - General Information, Specifications).

2. Refer to the procedure: Steering Column (211-04 Steering Column, Removal and Installation).

NOTE: Using a suitable stud puller, remove the shear bolts.

Installation

1. Install the elements back in place, working in reverse order.

CAUTION: Tighten new shear bolts until hex heads shear.

2. Using the Land Rover approved diagnostic system, calibrate the new module.
