The different windscreen wiper functions are activated by moving the lever up or down. Single wipe of the windscreen is activated by moving the lever down. This position of the lever is not locked and the wiper operation stops when the lever is released and returns to the central position. The switch contact corresponding to the single wipe mode is connected by a wire to the central fuse block (CJB) and "ground". The same connection to the central fuse block is used for continuous operation of the windscreen wiper at high speed. When the lever is moved, a circuit in the central fuse block is closed to "ground". The central fuse block detects the closed circuit and turns on the wiper, which remains on until the contact opens.

The intermittent windshield wiper mode is activated by moving the lever upwards to the first fixed position. The duration of the wiper cycle in the intermittent mode is set by the rotary control located on the lever. The windshield wiper operates in the intermittent mode until the lever is moved to the position corresponding to the windshield wiper off, continuous operation at low speed or high speed. The lever contact corresponding to the intermittent mode is connected to the central fuse block and to the ground. When the lever is moved to the position corresponding to the intermittent mode, the circuit is closed. The central fuse block registers the closure of the circuit and switches on the wiper in the intermittent mode, which remains until the contact opens.



The cycle duration in intermittent wiper operation is selected using the rotary control located on the lever. The control allows the driver to select one of six cycle duration options, corresponding to weather conditions. The control is connected by three wires to the central fuse box and one wire to the ground. Each of the six positions uses its own combination of three wires. The central fuse box determines which cycle duration is selected and turns on the wiper with an appropriate delay.

Switching on the constant mode of operation of the windscreen cleaner at low speed is carried out by moving the lever up to the second fixed position. The operation of the cleaner in this mode continues until the lever is moved to one of the following positions: turn off the cleaner, turn on the cleaner in intermittent mode, turn on the cleaner at high speed. The lever contact corresponding to this mode is connected to the central fuse box and the "ground". When the lever is moved to the position corresponding to the operation of the windscreen cleaner at low speed, the circuit closes. The central fuse box registers a short circuit, turns on the cleaner at a slow speed and it remains on until the contact opens.

The continuous high-speed windshield wiper mode is activated by moving the lever up to the third fixed position. The wiper continues to operate in this mode until the lever is moved to one of the following positions: wiper off, intermittent wiper on, low-speed wiper on. The lever contact corresponding to this mode is connected to the central fuse box and ground. When the lever is moved to the high-speed wiper position, the circuit is closed. The central fuse box registers the circuit closure, turns on the high-speed wiper, and it remains on until the contact opens.



The windshield washer function button is located at the end of the switch lever. When the button is pressed, the circuit in the central fuse box is closed to ground. The central fuse box registers the circuit closing and turns on the windshield washer, which remains on as long as the button is pressed.

Rear Window Wiper/Washer Switch


The rear window wiper and washer are switched on by moving the lever backwards (towards the driver). To switch on the rear window wiper, the lever must be moved backwards to the first locking position. The lever contact corresponding to this mode is connected to the central fuse box and ground. When the lever is moved to the position corresponding to switching on the rear window wiper, the circuit is closed. The central fuse box registers the closure of the circuit and switches on the rear window wiper, which remains on until the contact opens.

To turn on the rear window washer, the lever must be moved back to the second non-locking position. When the lever is moved to this position, the circuit between the central fuse box and the ground is closed. The central fuse box registers the circuit closure and turns on the rear window washer, which remains on until the contact opens.
