Driver/Passenger Classification System

NOTE: If a module or component failure is suspected and the vehicle remains under manufacturer's warranty, refer to the Warranty Guide (Section B1.2) or determine if there is a previously approved special program in effect before replacing the component.

NOTE: Generic scan tools may not be able to read the codes listed or may only be able to read 5-digit codes. Match the 5 digits from the scan tool with the first 5 digits of the listed 7-digit code to identify the fault (the last 2 digits provide additional information readable by the manufacturer-approved diagnostic system).

NOTE: When performing voltage or resistance tests, always use a digital multimeter (DMM) with three decimal places of accuracy and a valid calibration certificate. When testing resistance, be sure to include the resistance of the DMM leads.

NOTE: Before starting diagnostic programs using fault location tests, check and correct basic faults.

NOTE: Inspect the connectors for signs of water ingress and their pins for damage and/or corrosion.

NOTE: If DTCs are set and the fault is not present after performing the troubleshooting tests, an intermittent problem may be the cause. Be sure to check for loose connections and corroded terminals.

B1193-53	The emergency event registration block is full and blocked	Maximum number of events saved	Clear the DTCs, cycle the ignition switch and retest. If the DTC is still logged, check for DTCs for the RCM and refer to the DTC index above
B1A54-01	Seat belt tension sensor	General electrical fault	Perform the troubleshooting tests associated with this DTC using the manufacturer approved diagnostic system.
B1A54-11	Seat belt tension sensor	Seat Belt Tension Sensor Circuit: Short to Ground	Using the electrical diagrams, check the seat belt tension sensor circuit for a short to ground
B1A54-12	Seat belt tension sensor	Seat Belt Tension Sensor Circuit: Short to Power	Using the electrical circuit diagrams, check the seat belt tension sensor circuit for a short to power

B1A62-7A	Pressure sensor	Liquid leak. Seal defective.	Install a new driver/passenger classification sensor, refer to the new module/component installation note at the top of the DTC index.
B1A62-7B	Pressure sensor	Low working fluid level	Install a new driver/passenger classification sensor, refer to the new module/component installation note at the top of the DTC index.
U0151-00	Lost communication with the passive safety system control unit	Passive Restraint System Control Unit Status Missing	Perform the troubleshooting tests associated with this DTC using the manufacturer approved diagnostic system.
U3000-04	Control unit	Internal system malfunctions	Install a new driver/passenger classification sensor, refer to the new module/component installation note at the top of the DTC index.
U3000-51	Control unit	Not programmed	Configure the OCS unit using the manufacturer approved diagnostic system.
U3000-54	Control unit	Lack of calibration	Perform the empty seat weight adjustment calibration procedure using the manufacturer approved diagnostic system
U3003-16	Battery voltage	Circuit voltage below limit	Perform the troubleshooting tests associated with this DTC using the manufacturer approved diagnostic system.
U3003-17	Battery voltage	Circuit voltage is above limit	Perform the troubleshooting tests associated with this DTC using the manufacturer approved diagnostic system.
