The centrifugal coolant pump is mounted on the front of the engine and secured with seven bolts. The pump is driven directly by the camshaft timing belt and circulates the coolant through the cylinder block and cylinder head, the cooling system and the heater circuit.
The coolant pump is capable of delivering 215 l/min of coolant at 2.8 bar, generating a maximum system external pressure of 2.0 bar.
A large diameter coolant manifold located on the right side of the engine connects the rear of the coolant pump housing to the outlet of the temperature control module. The coolant manifold port on the coolant pump housing provides coolant return from the EGR heat exchanger.
