The heater radiator is installed in the microclimate control unit, located along the axis of the car between the instrument panel and the partition of the engine compartment. Two pipelines pass through the partition into the engine compartment and are connected to the supply and return hoses of the heater of the cooling system.
The coolant supply hose connects to the outlet port on the temperature control module. The coolant return hose is connected to the EGR heat exchanger.
The heater radiator is made of aluminum and has two tanks at the edges connected by tubes. Between the tubes are aluminum fins that transfer heat to the passing air. Coolant is supplied to the heater core whenever the engine is running.
For more information, see the chapter: Heating and ventilation (412-01 Climate control, Description and principle of operation).
