Cylinder head cover ventilation system oil separator (Freelander 2)

NOTE: The removal procedure description may contain installation steps.

Removal

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to procedure: Specifications (414-00 Charging System - General Information, Specifications).

2. Raise the vehicle.

3. Remove the fuel rail. Refer to procedure: Fuel Rail (303-04B Fuel Delivery and Controls - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4, Removal and Installation).





6. Tightening torque: 6 Nm








8. Tightening torque: 8 Nm





10. Remove and discard the hose clamps.



11. Insert a 7.5mm drill bit between the valve cover and the camshaft position sensor as shown in the figure to properly install the camshaft position sensor. Tightening torque: 4 Nm

CAUTION: Incorrect installation of the camshaft position (CMP) sensor can result in engine damage.

12. Remove and discard the hose clamp.



13. Tightening torque: 9 Nm

CAUTION: Tighten the bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

NOTE: Remove the O-rings and discard them as no longer needed.

Installation

1. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

CAUTION: Clean mating surfaces and remove any rust or foreign material.
